Presentation - https://goo.gl/zZWf7Y

Join me for an inquiry trip down the digestive system, cruisin' the continents, into outer space, and out to Odiorne State Park on the NH seacoast.
Google Expeditions is a collection of linked virtual reality content with supportive teaching materials that allows us to take students on virtual tours all over the world.
This year our students have toured countries around the world, visited museums and zoos to observe exhibits, journeyed underwater, and traveled through models of the human body.
In this session I will share our experiences introducing students at our school to Expeditions. I will share some of our successes and challenges as well as how we are supporting research skills.
I will also share how we have started creating our own immersive content to extend learning on field trips and to create social stories using Google Cardboard.
We will have some viewers available but attendees are welcome to byod if you have one. Please install the Google Expeditions App on your tablet or smartphone prior to the session.
This session would be ideal for educators at any level considering using Google Expeditions or looking for new ways to build connections between students and virtual reality tools.

High School English teacher, Biddeford High School
After growing up right here in Biddeford and graduating from BHS in 1981, I've been teaching in Biddeford ever since! I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1985 certified to be a regular or special education teacher. I earned my Master's degree in Literacy through the University of New England in 2011. | You might think that teaching is in my blood. The Stephen F. White gymnasium is named after my great-uncle. There is a scholarship in his name as well as one for my grandmother, Ruth W. Dearborn who was long-time English teacher here. If your grandparents went to the old Biddeford Junior High, they might remember my father, Peter W. Judge, who was a coach and physical education teacher there. There are many more of my relatives that have been involved in teaching in Biddeford and Saco through the years! | I never imagined that I would be teaching at the High School level. My first year teaching, I taught first grade. However, that April I got hit by a car while getting my mail. One of my administrators thought I should fill a position at the high school for the next year while I was still healing. I could never have chased little kids around while still on crutches that...
